Egg Count & Lay Date

Record how many eggs are in a Clutch and the date they were laid.

Egg Count and Lay Date are recorded when you create or edit a Clutch.

Egg Count

Egg Count records the number of eggs in the Clutch. You enter this value yourself.

Where supported, hatch results can later record how many eggs hatched or failed.

HerpClutch does not assess fertility, candling status, or egg viability.

Lay Date

Lay Date is the date the eggs were laid. It is an important input: HerpClutch uses the Lay Date together with the configured incubation period to calculate the Expected Hatch Date and Hatch Window.

You can change the Lay Date by editing the Clutch.
