Frequently asked questions
- How do I add a Herp?
- Open Herp, select Add Herp, choose a Species (required), enter the available details, and save.
- How is a Herp ID generated?
- HerpClutch generates a Herp ID automatically when you add a Herp. The code is derived from the Species, so the prefix depends on how that Species is configured.
- Can I add my own Species?
- Yes, where supported you can add a Species. Adding a Species requires a Category.
- What Age values are available for a Herp?
- Age can be set to Adult, Juvenile, or Baby. Age is a label you choose; HerpClutch does not calculate biological age.
- Can I search Herps by Name, Species, or Tags?
- Yes. You can search your Herps by Name, Species, and Tags.
- What happens when I archive a Herp?
- Archiving removes a Herp from your active list without permanently deleting it. Archived Herps can be found under Settings → Data & Storage → Archived Herps and restored later.
- How do I restore an archived Herp?
- Open Settings, then Data & Storage, then Archived Herps, select the Herp, and choose Restore. It returns to your active Herps list.
