The Incubation Period is the expected time between the Lay Date and hatching. HerpClutch can use incubation values associated with the selected Species to estimate hatch timing.
What contributes
Where the product supports them, incubation values such as a minimum, default, and maximum number of days contribute to the calculations:
- The default value informs the Expected Hatch Date.
- The minimum and maximum values define the Hatch Window.
Species incubation settings
Incubation values depend on the configured Species. For example, a Ball Python may use configured incubation values such as a minimum, default, and maximum. Values for other Species depend on how they are configured.
These settings support planning estimates. They do not guarantee when an egg will hatch.
