Hatch Window

Understand the expected range of dates a Clutch may hatch within.

The Hatch Window is an expected range of dates a Clutch may hatch within, rather than a single day.

How the range is formed

  • The minimum incubation duration can define an earlier expected boundary.
  • The maximum incubation duration can define a later expected boundary.
  • The result is shown as the expected Hatch Window.

Example

This is only an example to illustrate the idea:

  • Lay Date: June 1
  • Incubation: 55–60 days
  • Expected Hatch Window: approximately July 26–31

Actual values depend on the configured incubation period for the Species. Not all Species use the same number of days.

The Hatch Window is a planning estimate based on the information recorded in HerpClutch. Actual hatch timing may vary.
