Frequently asked questions
- How do I create a Clutch?
- Open Clutch, select Add Clutch, choose the Species and parents, enter the Egg Count and Lay Date, review the hatch information, and save.
- How is a Clutch ID generated?
- HerpClutch generates a Clutch ID automatically. A Species/code and the year may contribute to the identifier, and sequence numbering is managed by the app.
- Can I select one Female and multiple Males for a Clutch?
- Yes. A Clutch can record one Female and, where supported, multiple Male parents, chosen from your Herp records.
- How is Egg Count recorded?
- You enter the Egg Count when creating or editing a Clutch. HerpClutch does not assess fertility or viability.
- Can I edit a Clutch after creating it?
- Yes. You can edit a Clutch's details. Changing the Lay Date or incubation information can affect the expected hatch calculations.
