Herp IDs

How HerpClutch generates a unique reference for each Herp.

Each Herp has a Herp ID that gives the record a unique reference.

How Herp IDs work

  • The Herp ID is generated automatically when you add a Herp.
  • The code is derived from the Herp’s Species, so the prefix depends on how that Species is configured.
  • Sequence numbering is managed by the app.

A Herp ID may look like this:

BP-00001

This is only an example. The prefix comes from the configured Species, so it is not the same for every Species.
