Adding a Herp

Create a Herp record by choosing a Species and entering the available details.

Adding a Herp creates a new record for an individual reptile.

Add a Herp

  1. Open Herp in the bottom navigation.
  2. Select Add Herp.
  3. Choose a Species. Species is required.
  4. Enter the available details, such as Name, Sex, Age, Tags, Photo, and Notes.
  5. Save the Herp.

Species is required

A Herp must have a Species. You can choose an existing Species, and where available you can add a new Species. Adding a Species requires a Category.

Herp ID is generated for you

When you save a Herp, HerpClutch generates a Herp ID automatically. The ID uses a code derived from the Species, so the prefix depends on how that Species is configured.

For example, a Herp ID may look like BP-00001. The exact prefix varies by Species, so it will not be the same for every Species.
