If a label won’t print, work through these checks.
What to check
- Confirm your printer is switched on and ready.
- System Print: confirm the printer is available to your device in the print dialog.
- Brother Direct Print: confirm the printer and your device are on the same Wi-Fi network, that the printer is selected on the Label Printer screen (Settings → Features & Tools → Label Printer), and that Check Loaded Media reports the paper you chose under Compatible Label Paper.
- Check that the selected label size fits the label paper in your printer.
- Open the label preview and try printing again.
On Android, Brother Direct Print needs Android 8 or newer. If the Label Printer screen says Brother Direct Print isn’t available on your device, print with System Print.
