Delete Your HerpClutch Account
You delete your HerpClutch account in the HerpClutch mobile app. This page explains how, and what happens when you do. The website itself can't delete accounts.
Delete your account from HerpClutch
- Open HerpClutch on your phone. Deleting an account needs an Internet connection.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap your account card at the top of Settings, or the Profile icon at the top of the screen, to open Account Profile.
- Under DANGER ZONE, tap Delete Account.
- Read what will be deleted, then type DELETE in the Type DELETE to confirm box.
- Under Confirm it is you, confirm with the sign-in method your account uses: Confirm with Apple, Confirm with Google, or your password.
- Tap Delete Account Permanently. To confirm, tap Delete Permanently.
When it's done, HerpClutch shows “Your account has been deleted.” If your device is offline, HerpClutch tells you and nothing is deleted.
What happens when you delete your account
- If you sign in with Apple, HerpClutch first withdraws its access to your Apple ID. If it can't, your account isn't deleted.
- Your HerpClutch account is permanently deleted, and you're signed out.
- The HerpClutch records stored on that device for your account are deleted, including your Herps, Clutches and the photos HerpClutch manages for them. If something can't be removed straight away, HerpClutch finishes the cleanup the next time it opens.
- If you sign in with Google, you're signed out, but HerpClutch's access isn't removed from your Google Account. You can remove it in your Google Account settings.
- This cannot be undone.
Only the device you delete your account on is cleared. If you also used HerpClutch on another phone or tablet, the records stored there stay on that device. To remove them, remove the HerpClutch app from that device.
Settings that apply to the whole device, such as printer settings, also stay on the device where you delete your account.
Backups and exported files
Backup files, labels and other files you saved or shared from HerpClutch stay wherever you put them. HerpClutch can't reach them, so you'll need to delete them yourself if you no longer want them.
Backup and label files that HerpClutch wrote to its temporary storage while you saved or shared them can also stay on the device until your device clears that storage.
Your device may also keep HerpClutch data in its own backups, for example in your Google or Apple account, depending on your settings. Those backups are managed by your device and its provider, not by HerpClutch, and deleting your account may not remove the copies they contain.
To keep a copy of your records, create a backup before you delete your account, where your app allows it.
Can't access your account?
